Bella, the Amazing Conehead Dog!

We had our dog, Bella, spayed yesterday. Buddy dropped her off at the vet's office after he took me in to work, and he picked her up just before he picked me up. Surgery went well, and she's doing okay now. However, she's been licking at the incision obsessively. So today, he had to get her a cone to go around her neck. Her snout is so long, we couldn't put her in a large collar, because she'd be able to lick around it. So he had to get her an extra large, and as a result, she has no peripheral vision. I hate to laugh, but it's absolutely hilarious! She's bumping into doorways, running in to people when they aren't standing right in front of her, she can't get to her spot under the coffee table, and she's scared to jump onto the couch or chair because she can't see the whole thing. Buddy got some good pics of her, so they will be posted soon!

  1. Hi Brianna... I just popped over here from your mom's blog and saw this post from last summer. It had me laughing!! Even with all the dogs we've had, we've never had to resort to the dreaded cone.

Poor girlie. I hope she healed quickly.

Have fun with your baby shower this weekend!!
